Make Mine...Amalgam?

Remember Amalgam comics?  No?  Did I just tip my hand as to how old I am?  Well anyway...

Back when Marvel and DC could stand to bear each other in the same room, they collaborated on a mash-up of their characters, giving us comics fans a series of one-shots that were ridiculous and fun.  My favorites were Super Soldier, (Captain America and Superman), Bullets & Bracelets (a Punisher and Wonder Woman team up), and the most 90's character of all things 90's...Darkclaw! (Batman and Wolverine)

At some point, I stumbled across an exercise to take two superhero teams and turn them into an Amalgam team.  I used a line up from Teen Titans in the 2000's that I really enjoyed, and the line up from the 90's X-Men cartoon...the opening theme of the latter team you now have playing in your head and I'm not sorry at all.

So here's my corny Amalgam Superhero team.  The Mu-Teens!

Starfire + Jubilee = Supernova

Kory’Lee is an alien mallrat who came to Earth tasked with finding her evil sister Blackhusk. Her powers of flight and explosions cause much collateral damage, as she is both inexperienced and carefree.

Cyborg + Wolverine = Cyber X

Logan Stone was built by Star Labs secret Weapon-10 division in Genosha.  A blend of state-of-the-art cybernetics and a splicing of the ten deadliest animals on Earth, the man inside is all but lost within his own turmoil and angst. Only his claws and laser-sting give him any sense of meaning or temporary comfort.

Kid Flash + Rogue = Speedtrap

Anna-Marie West’s mutant ability to absorb the powers of any living creature she passes by at Mach-1 or higher makes her one of the most dangerous women on the planet. But her power is both a blessing and a curse, she is unable to touch those she cares about without vibrating the lifeforce out of them.

Miss Martian + Cyclops = Camouflage

M’gann G’rey is the time-displaced final warrior of Mars. Thrown forward in time thousands of years, she now uses her shapeshifting ability and sensor blasts from the single eye in the middle of her forehead in the role of spy, making stealthy surgical strikes against Erik Luthor’s Magnet Men

Raven + Gambit =  Gypsy Dealer

Known as “The Cajun’s Daughter” in criminal circles, Rachel Lebeau-Roth uses her dark magicks to fight against her Demonic father’s influence. Her trademark exploding tarot cards are both an effective cleansing method of the demons that plague Bourbon Street, and a slight against Big Daddy Trigon’s chain of riverboat prophecy casinos.

Robin + Professor X = Dr. Avian

Leader of The Mu-Teens, Dr. Timothy Charles Avian (T.C. to his friends) was an accomplished acrobatic performer in Cirque De La Lune before suffering a terrible accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down, but when his brain injuries healed, he had unlocked the ability to mentally project himself anywhere on the planet.

Beast Boy + Jean Grey = Wildlife

Garfield Grey can take on the shape of any animal he sees, and then communicate with them telepathically. He’s shown much promise, and is being mentored by Camouflage aka M’gann G’rey. It is thought that Garfield may be a direct descendant of M’Gann, but neither have addressed it openly…yet.
